brunch and botanical prints
Hi there, what are you up to this Saturday? This morning I went out to brunch with a friend at this restaurant, which was lovely. I highly recommend it for breakfast if you're in the area. Then this afternoon I went on a (very quick) antique shopping excursion with my mother-in-law, Tracy, and one of her friends. Right now I'm looking for props for Dusty and my marriage blessing ceremony this September. We've decided that we want to do a science-botanical-nature theme--think bell jars, scientific props, ferns, terrariums, botanical prints etc. Thankfully, I've been able to come up with lots of inspiration and already found a few decorative pieces. Please let me know if you have any ideas or know of good places to find stuff like that. I hope you're having a perfect Saturday. Xo.

Big Family, Pretty Houses
lovelovelove
As anyone who knows me knows, I am obsessed with pretty much any show that Bravo puts out. Which is why it should come as no surprise that I freaking loved (the season just wrapped up a week or two ago) their new show, 9 by Design. The show chronicles the lives of a the Novogratz family, Mom and Dad have a home design business (Sixx Design) as well as seven children together. AMAZINGNESS. Did you tune in? What do you think of their design aesthetic?

simple pleasures and curtains
Art by Andrew Daniel
It's wonderful how just a small change can make you feel a million times better. The other day I got new curtains for my bedroom as I was getting sick of the dark ones that I bought last summer (it was 110 degrees and I was desperate for anything to cool down my space). I'm a light person and they were blocking out all of the sunlight (I blame them for my sleeping in until nearly eleven last weekend). My new window coverings (purchased here) are cheery and allow the sun to bask my room in golden bliss---thank goodness. I hope that you are having a good week, and if something small is bugging you by all means find a way to fix it!

Indoor Hammocks
I've always loved hammocks outside (who doesn't?) but recently I've been noticing a design trend towards indoor hammocks, which I love equally as much. I found this website which sells a combination hammock/beanbag for indoors which they call "Le Beanock" (pictured above). Doesn't that look like the perfect place to take an afternoon nap?

Bathtubs
A couple pages from King Bidgood's in the Bathtub and A truly adorable bathroom
This morning I decided (since it's Saturday and all) to skip taking a shower and take a bath instead. It was infinitely more relaxing and I am definitely going to try to do it more often. Do you like baths? Or are you an all showers all the time kind of person? Also, do you have a cool bathtub? Growing up, my neighbors across the street had (and still have) an amazing clawfoot tub which I have always been quite jealous of.
All of this talk about bathtubs reminds me of one of my most favorite children's books of all time, King Bidgood's in the Bathtub, written by Audrey Wood and Illustrated by her husband Don Wood. The story is truly charming and the illustrations are some of the best. The couple has also written many other wonderful stories which I'm sure I'll mention at a later date. Hope you're having a wonderful Saturday!
